Traditional lash extension, individual lashes are placed on each natural lashes, using a very strong glue, the chemicals in the glue can cause irritation on the eyelid and the weight of the glue can also tug on the eyelash hairs and cause irritation. This procedure requires an hour or more and are usually costly. The life cycle of the lash extension is normally 2 weeks and gradually; they start falling out and make the eyes look uneven. For refilling or removing it all of it you have to go to salon as it is not easy to be removed.
For ease of use DIY Glams lashes come as segmented lashes and the glue used to apply these lashes is a soft water resistant glue. They are applied as segments and on more lashes; therefore it is easier for natural lashes to hold them on. This lashes lifecycle is 7 days but since they are segmented it is very easy to reapply them. Additionally the time required for applying this lashes is only 5 minutes and the cost is very low in compare to the traditional lash extension. Moreover, you will have the full control of the exact shape and you can remove it anytime you want.
We usually recommend our clients to use own it style for daily life and based on the look they want they can choose from the 3 sub categories of: Natural Look, Classy look and volume look.
Length is largely decided by the length of your natural lashes and the gap between your eye and eyebrows. We recommend choosing a length no more than 2 mm longer than your natural lash.
Curls, depends on how natural you want it to look. Extra curl is good to open up the eyes. Apply a curler on your lash to see which curl is more desirable for you.
Ready sets are more recommended to be used on event or any special day as these sets have mixtures of sizes and curls and styles in per set and are fuller.
The three common lash shapes are:
1. Cat Eye: Gradually goes from Long to short, with the longest at the end. This will create an almond shape appearance.
Apply the shortest size cluster on the inner corner of eye. Make sure to cut the cluster into two part applying on the inner corner needs more control and it is easier to place it properly when it is smaller.
Apply two - chunks of one size bigger and
Depending on your eye size, apply half or one cluster of the longest size clusters in your card on the outer corner. (I suggest to not completely fill the eyelid, if you leave 1mm - 2mm gap to the end of outer corner, it will create eye lift effect.
2. Doll Eye: Puts the majority of length in the middle, Causing the eye to look more open.
Cut each cluster into half. Apply half (or two halves) of the shortest size cluster on the inner corner of eye. Make sure to cut it into two sinze applying on the inner corner needs more control and it is easier to place it properly when it is smaller.
Apply two chunks of one size bigger and
Depending on your eye size, apply one and half piece of cluster or one cluster of the longest size clusters in your box on the outer corner. (I suggest to not completely fill the eyelid, if you leave 1mm - 2mm gap to the end of outer corner, it will create eye lift effect.
3. Dramatic: This Style goes from Short to long more quickly and maintains the long length throughout.
Apply half (or two halves) of the shortest size cluster on the inner corner of eye. Make sure to cut the cluster into two part applying on the inner corner needs more control and it is easier to place it properly when it is smaller.

DIY Glams offers two types of glues:
Bond: This glue can last up to 7 days and if you apply the sealer on to it, it can even last for longer
Glue: As our customers demanded a less stronger glue that can be removed easily with water, we have added Brush glue to our list for the ones whom want to take the lashes off before going to bed. This glue can last up to 3 days if it is used along with sealer.
Sealer: Sealer helps the lashes to last longer and extends the wear of lashes. It can be applied daily, before sleeping, before and after taking shower or swimming.
The answer is No. The lashes are virtually weightless, relieving your natural lashes from any tension and the glues contains Biotin and almond oil, nourishing the natural lashes, and provides the users with a damage-free experience.
Unlike traditional lash extension glues, our glues are safe for clients allergic to traditional lash extensions. The glues are gentle and latex-free and without formaldehydes.
Obviously you can, however we cannot guarantee results or a damage-free experience if the lashes are used with traditional eyelash glue.
You can soak a cotton ball with coconut oil and place it on your lashes for 3 mins and then wipe it off with makeup remover or wash it with face wash. Make sure to not pull the lashes and let the glue to get soften and loose absorbing the coconut oil. Our organic fractionated coconut oil delicate skin around the eyes and helps keep your lashes healthy.
- Clean the eye area with makeup remover
- Curl your natural lashes
- Choose the style you want and remove the clusters you require from the tray and have them ready. These lashes are customizable! Always trim down the outer corner segments to fit your eye shape. The inner corner segment can be cut into smaller pieces too.
- Brush a light coat of bonding adhesive on lower part of natural lashes. (Make sure to only apply on the lower part to not have any clumps while sleeping) you can use the tip of the wand for applying. Wait for 30 seconds until it gets tacky. Before applying the glue, make sure to scrape off excess glue on the bottle mouth to prevent clumps.
- Add a bit of more glue on the roots with the head of the brush. Make sure to apply only on the lash and not your eyelid.
- Apply bonding glue on the band of preferred size cluster and wait for 30 seconds and apply it under your lashes (If you want the lashes to last longer you can use the pro glue instead). Make sure to apply the lashes 0.5-1 mm away from your eyelid to prevent any type of irritations to the eyes.
- If you want to create a more dominant look, you can apply another layer of segmented lashes on the first layer, repeating the whole process
- Optional: Apply the sealer from root to tip of the lashes. Wait for 30 seconds until it dries.
- Optional: apply eyelash curler on the lashes now but make sure to not press it hard.
- Before taking shower, swimming apply a layer of sealer and wait until it dries.
Yes, like any other lashes you can remove the glue and reuse it, however due to hygienic concerns in general we do not recommend reusing the lashes for long.
To reuse the Clusters:
- Place used Clusters on a paper towel, coat with oil-free makeup remover, then let sit for 15 seconds.
- Saturate a cotton swab with remover and gently wipe away the glue residue from the Cluster. Store Clusters in original packaging and let it dry.
DIY Glams is water resistant. You can shower, exercise and do water sports while wearing them. However, long exposure to steam will soften the bonds, as the ingredient used in it is not as harsh as other glues used for eyelash extensions. If they get wet, don’t rub it and gently absorb the water on the lashes with a tissue or a towel. If they loosen, simply add extra bond and sealer.
Definitely, however the glam this lashes will give you eliminates the need of additional make up 😉
If you apply makeup make sure to clean it using a non-oil based make up remover and using a q tip so the chemicals doesn’t irritate your eyes. You can also gently wash it off with face wash and water and dry it with a clean towel.
Of course, you can, once the lashes have been applied, you can wear contact lenses again.
Absolutely, DIY Glams is committed to cruelty-free products.
You need to ask yourself few questions to start with:
What is the style you like (Please refer to question 2)
For how long you want to keep them on. To decide about the type of glue you need
Depending on the glue you have selected, will you need a makeup remover or maybe our organic coconut oil to remove the lashes and nourish your natural lashes?
Will you need the applicator or are you confident enough to use your tweezer instead. We suggest you to use applicator since it is easier to grab the clusters and helps you to have a better control in placing them, but it is optional.
You can either buy the requirements separately or purchase our full kit (A lash card of your choice, Glue of your choice, sealer, applicator, and remover). We have a half kit as well for the ones whom do not need the remover and sealer.
Additionally if you need any type of advice for selecting the right option, you can always contact our lash experts and we will get back to you as soon as possible)
